chapter 3

After thinking about my near death experience, I don't owe Finny any type of gratitude due to the fact that I would never have been up in the tree in the first place if Finny hadnt forced me to do so. Our Super Suicide Society has already become a popular club as Finny convinced six other boys from the summer session to join the club. Finny decided to make a list of rules, one of which states him and I must start every meeting by jumping out of the tree and into the river. I am not a fan of this rule because of my fear of doing this, but I decided to keep my mouth shut and go along with this. Finny broke one of the school's swimming records, but I was the only one to witness him do so. He refuses to do it again in public and won't allow me to tell anyone about it, and im not quite sure why. Finny and I decide to go against school rules and take an extremely long bike ride to the beach. At the beach Finny has a lot of fun and does his best to entertain me. After swimming Finny and I have a beer by obtaining a forged draft card. We slept in the dunes and Finny told me I was his bestfriend, I like Finny but I am not quite ready to call him my bestfriend.
