chapter 2

Mr. Prud'homme is our substitute teacher. He came to punish us for not attending dinner the night before. I was willing to just accept our punishment, but Finny as always talked our way out of it by being extremely polite to Mr. Prud'homme. Finny's wearing an outrageous pink shirt to celebrate the first bombing in central Europe. Finny can get away with just about anything he wants to do here at the summer session. I made fun of Finny for wearing the pink shirt, but I secretly emulate the fact that Finny can somehow get away with wearing such a ridiculous shirt. He even got away with wearing his tie as a belt! Finny being able to talk his way out of any situation is beginning to get on my nerves, but i will just ignore that for now. I owe Finny due to the fact that he saved me from a near death experience when he grabbed me when i slipped off the tree branch, saving my life.
